Troy Staples - 

Troy was born and raised on the family farm overlooking the South-West town of Harvey. 

As a partner at KGL, a Certified Practising Accountant holding a Bachelor of Business degree and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Troy takes a hands-on approach to assisting owners with their business management and dealing with their taxation compliance. With a focus on business performance, asset protection and business succession Troy takes a practical approach to explaining complex issues in a way that real people can understand them. 

Married to Tiffany and with four children, Troy has a love of farming, camping, four wheel driving and all things mechanical.


Dana Maher - 

Bunbury born and bred Dana graduated in 2002 from Edith Cowan University. 

She joined the firm in 2006 after working for four and a half years for another local firm. Dana is a qualified CPA who holds a public practice certificate, Dana became KGL's first female partner in July 2017. Dana is focused on helping people manage, monitor and build their businesses. Dana loves to stay active and is a keen beach volleyball and netball player. In 2007 Dana took six months leave to travel the UK and Europe and spent time working in the accounting industry in the UK which has helped broaden her horizons. 

Today Dana is settled in her home town with her husband, daughter and young son and enjoys time spent with her family and friends.

Accounting Team

Sharon Sutherland
Sharon joined KGL in 2007 following her move from New Zealand. She joined KGL as our Business Manager after 20 years as a senior accounting manager in New Zealand. Sharon is responsible for the day to day running of our business as well as providing accounting service for our clients.

She is married with two adult children. In her spare time she enjoys an outdoor lifestyle which includes horse riding, cycling, most sports and family time. Sharon and her husband John have recently purchased a caravan with a view to joining the 'grey nomads' in the next few years.

Melissa Mrugalski
Mel was born and raised in Bunbury and currently lives in Gelorup with her partner, daughters and 2 dogs. In her free time she enjoys reading, relaxing, catching up with friends and family and shopping. She has been at KGL since May 2008 and completed her Bachelor of Business degree in December 2009. Mel is a qualified CPA.

Dawid Opperman
Dawid grew up on a farm in South Africa.  He ran his own home based practice for almost 6 years in South Africa and moved to Australia in 2008.  After 2 years braving the cold weather in Canberra, he and his family relocated to sunny Bunbury.  Dawid loves the outdoors and spends most of his free time with his wife and three children.

Shan Rosman
Shan was born in Manjimup, and in 2008 moved to Perth to complete her Bachelor of Commerce degree at Curtin University. She now lives in Glen Iris with her husband, Justin and their three children. She joined the team at KGL in July 2011 and has since completed CPA studies. In her spare time, Shan enjoys bike riding, cooking and catching up with family and friends.

Tim Collins 
Tim grew up in Boyanup and lived there until 2004. Joining KGL in 2012, he has since completed a Bachelor of Business degree, with a double major in Accounting and Public Practice, at Edith Cowan University in Bunbury and is now completing his CPA qualifications. Tim currently lives in Treendale with his wife, Emma, and two children. Prior to his studies, Tim worked in the retail, fire safety, farming and candy making industries.

Tim is a state basketball and beach volleyball player who enjoys going to the gym at the local Surf Club as well as spending quality time with his family and friends. 

Anne Turner
Anne was born in Yorkshire, England and moved to Australia at the age of 5 and calls Australia Home. 

She completed her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) as a mature age student at ECU Bunbury and worked in Public Practice for about 5 years and later had her own bookkeeping business for approximately 10 years. Anne decided that she would like to go back to Public Practice and has recently started at KGL as an Accountant.  

Anne has two adult children and loves spending her spare time with family and friends. 

Chiara Smith 
Chiara grew up in Brunswick Junction and Australind with her family and is currently living in Eaton with her partner and their dog, Kiba. She has been with our team since September 2016, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Business with a major in Accounting at Edith Cowan University. Chiara has previously worked in the accounting industry along with retail and administration work, but has also made time to travel over the past few years. 

In her spare time, she enjoys four wheel driving, camping, reading and spending time with family and friends.  

Rudy Radiman 
Rudy was born in Malaysia and raised in Bunbury. Rudy arrived at KGL after spending several years at another local accounting firm. When not counting beans, Rudy is a sports/video game enthusiast and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Administration Team

Tanya Scott
Tanya grew up in Bunbury, WA.  She currently lives in Eaton with her husband, three teenage daughters and their dog. Tanya's busy family keeps her on her toes!  When she has spare time, she enjoys fishing, camping, reading and socialising. 

Tanya is a Certified Bookkeeper having completed her qualification in 2018 and brings 10+ years worth of experience to our administration team.

Michelle Nietrzeba 
Michelle has been at KGL since 2001 and is part of the KGL office administration team 4 days a week. She believes in providing great customer service to all our clients and is always up for a chat too!

Sonya Rhodes 
Sonya joined KGL in 2018 and is part of the KGL office administration team 1 day a week.  Sonya was born and bred locally in Bunbury and has over 10 years experience in banking.  Sonya strives to provide friendly customer service and really enjoys meeting new people.
